Say it out loud, again and again
The key to learning words is saying them out loud, again and again. DODON JAPANESE turns that repetition into a game. As you name pictures to clear them, you end up saying the same words many times.
How to play
- Name each picture in Japanese, and it pops and disappears.
- If a picture gets close, slide your paper plane away.
- At the end, a boss appears. Say the names of the pictures it throws to beat it.
A game takes about 3 minutes. Japanese beginners are welcome.
Learn words you don't know yet
- Grab the magnifying glass to see the words in kana.
- After each game, tap ▶ Listen on the words you missed, then say them out loud.
- Words you say are saved in your Word Book with pictures, kana, and meanings.
Review every hiragana sound
In the Hiragana stage, hear every hiragana sound, row by row. Each round, the boss throws 3 words using those letters: say them to check what you've learned.
Everyday words, then all around Japan
Start with animals and food, then move on to school, home, town, the sea, festivals, stations, Japanese restaurants and more: up to 1,100 words in 11 stages.
